Join us every Wednesday evening for Midweek at Trinity!
August 14 through December 4, 2024

Join us every Wednesday, August 14 through December 4, 2024, at Trinity. We have something for everyone at Midweek! Rather than have church activities spread all over the weekly calendar, we make Wednesdays a priority and seek to keep our weekly activities, as much as possible, limited to this day.

Children’s Choirs

The choirs have two main goals. The first—to instill a love for praising Jehovah through song. The second—to instruct basic musical skills such as ear training and reading music notation. Towards accomplishing these goals, the children often lead worship in song as well as receive weekly instruction in their classes on how to read and listen to music. We also play games, sing fun songs, and generally have a good time together. Even if your child is not musically intuitive, this program imparts skills and musical memories that can enrich and benefit them for a lifetime. We hope to see your child in choir soon!

Youth

6:00 until 7:15 p.m.
Middle School (6th-8th Grades)
High School (9th-12th Grades)
The Frith

One of the most crucial elements of spiritual growth is discipleship. Trinity’s Youth Ministry sets aside Wednesday evenings during the school year for our middle school and high school students to meet for Bible study and fellowship.

Students meet in The Frith. In this setting, students are given the opportunity to study God’s Word and explore ways to apply it to their daily lives.

Adult Bible Studies

Strength and Honor
Led by Kurt Cooper  |  Westminster Room

Men today are inundated with the message that real masculinity means we forge our own path in this life. By our willpower and grit, we are to be manly, always leading, never vulnerable, and to always have the answer. How are Christian men supposed to respond to this misguided ideal that breeds pride? Paul boasted of his weakness, understanding that when we are weak, the Lord is strong. In this class, we will discuss the truths found in Scripture, which advise men not to rely on our own strengths, rather to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

The Westminster Confession of Faith: The Structure of Life
Led by Bill Clark and Jacob Mathai  |  Room 203

Our deepest desire is that we will all grow in applying to our lives the various teachings of the Bible. This class will involve gleaning Scripture from the full range of the Bible on various topics. The topics will come from our Westminster Confession of Faith, which answers questions such as: What is truth? Where can I find it? Is there a God, and what is He like? Where did this world come from, and how does God relate to it? Your answer to these and other questions will determine how you live. The Bible will be the primary textbook, and the goal will always be “right living.”

Jonah and Nahum
Led by Michael Howell  |  Room 101
August 14 – October 2

The books of Jonah and Nahum both address the city of Nineveh. When Jonah preached repentance in the streets of Nineveh, the people responded and repented. A century later, Nahum preached in the same city, but the people did not repent. Destruction followed.

Church History: Augustine and Charlemagne
Led by Harrison Taylor  |  Room 202
August 14 – October 9

Come explore the early years of Christianity. Specifically, beginning with the 5th century fall of the Roman West and continuing through to the 8th century rise of the Carolingians. Along the way, we will address key people and events such as Augustine of Hippo, Patrick of Ireland, the Council of Chalcedon, the Muslim Caliphate, and Charlemagne’s coronation as “Emperor of the Romans.”

We Are Presbyterian
Led by John Weiss  |  Room 202
October 16 – December 4

This class will explore the scriptural and theological basis for Presbyterian church polity, creeds, confessions, and sacraments. We will address basic questions such as: Why elders? Why infant baptism? What is happening at communion? We will examine what Scripture and the early church fathers and reformers taught concerning these matters and the efforts of the Church to faithfully adhere to these truths today.

Women’s Study
Better Together: Testimonies of God’s Faithfulness
Led by Pamela Boswell  |  Room 204

We will hear from various women in our congregation as they share their life stories of God’s faithfulness through their years of living in this broken world. We will learn how to walk alongside one another, caring for each other through the different seasons of life, whether they are joyful, or not so joyful.
