Welcome to the Children’s Ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church

Children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and like any gift from God, He wants us to receive them with thankful hearts and responsible stewardship. We are happy and eager to come alongside you to assist and equip you as we seek to “raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” We believe that every child is “fearfully and wonderfully made,” and created in the image of Christ to “glorify and enjoy Him forever.” From the time your child enters our ministry, he or she will be shown the love of Christ, taught the gospel, and instructed in the inerrant truths of the Bible.

Our Approach

Even the youngest child can know the love of Christ. That’s why it’s never too early to intentionally share the message of God’s love with our children. Trinity has a long tradition in nurturing and growing children in Christ. Our prayer for every child is that they never remember a day they didn’t know Jesus as their Savior and follow Him as their Lord.

We Partner with Parents

Children are members of the Church, and Jesus reminds us that we have a special responsibility to nurture them in the Church (Matthew 19:14). And while they have not yet made a public profession of their faith, they still have a special place at Trinity. We believe that the Church and the parents must work together to help them grow toward mature, Christian adulthood.

We are Passionate in Ministry

We nurture children from infancy through 5th grade as they develop in their faith and grow into disciples of Jesus Christ through age and developmentally appropriate environments and activities.

Our goals are:

  • Engage with the Bible and discover relevance in daily life.
  • Become a part of a community within Sunday School groups.
  • Develop an appreciation for the wonders of God’s creation.
  • Gain tools for growing in faith among today’s culture.

We are Purposeful in Spiritual Formation

Beginning with our sign of the covenant in infant baptism, the Trinity family commits to the spiritual formation of each child. We have identified three core practices that encourage each family’s growth in Christian discipleship, so children understand we REACH UP to God in worship, we REACH IN to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and we REACH OUT to people around us to share the love of Christ.

Worship God

Children learn to worship by experiencing it. Through children’s bulletins, children’s worship, and children’s choirs, we want our children to sing praises to the Lord and grow in His grace!

Grow in Christ

It is our privilege to teach children the truths of God’s Word. Through a Bible-centered curriculum, a robust memory work and Catechism program, and a fun learning environment, we want our children to grow in wisdom and stature in the Lord.

Bless the World

The seeds of service are sown early in life. And it’s never too early to use your gifts and graces for the work of His kingdom. We give our children lots of opportunities to participate in what God is doing on the other side of the street and the other side of the world.

Children age 2 through Kindergarten experience the message of God’s love as they learn Bible stories and Christian principles through interactive, hands-on activities. This equips children with a spiritual foundation that reinforces a growing faith. More information.

Elementary Ministry – 1st grade through 5th grade

Children in 1st-5th grades are ready to build on the foundation and apply biblical truths to their daily lives.Using the “Show Me Jesus” curriculum from Great Commission Publications (PCA), elementary programs provide an environment where children continue to learn Bible stories, discover how to follow Christ in their daily lives, and build community with others. More information.
