Vespers worship is no less thoughtful than the morning but it is less formal, emphasizing the nearness of God and the fellowship of His people. In addition to a homily, the Vespers include extended times of singing, testimonies of God’s grace from members, missionary reports, and times of prayer. Vespers music is led from the piano with other musicians, and includes not only time-tested hymns of the faith, but biblically sound hymns and songs from some of the best poets and composers of the present Church. The Vespers Service is usually under an hour long, and often is followed by a time for refreshments and fellowship.
